After completing a four-game sweep of the Chicago Cubs, the Los Angeles Dodgers begin their final road trip before the All-Star break, with their first stop at Busch Stadium for a three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Dodgers have won 11 of their last 12 games and enter play at 56-29, which is good for the best record in the National League. The Cardinals, at 47-42, are two games behind the first-place Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central.

Mitch White makes his eighth start and 13th overall appearance of the season. The right-hander allowed just one hit and one unearned run over 5.2 innings in his last outing against the Colorado Rockies.

White has been gaining more confidence on the mound with a consistent routine. “I like being on a five-day,” the right-hander said of recent success. “It’s nice to be out there every fifth day and just keep going.”

White is 1-1 with a 3.38 ERA, 3.73 FIP and 1.15 WHIP across 40 innings pitched this season. The 27-year-old is 0-1 with a 6.00 ERA and 0.83 WHIP in two career appearances against the Cardinals (one start).

St. Louis was expected to counter with with Matthew Liberatore, but Jordan Hicks will first serve as an opener. Hicks is 2-4 with a 4.28 ERA over 13 games (seven starts) this year.

Meanwhile, Liberatore looks to build on a successful start against the Atlanta Braves. The left-hander gave up three hits over four scoreless innings and collected four strikeouts.

Liberatore owns a 2-1 record, 4.74 ERA, 5.13 FIP and 1.74 WHIP with 22 strikeouts against 14 walks in 24.2 innings this season (six starts). The rookie is making his first career appearance against the Dodgers.

Tuesday’s matchup between the Dodgers and Cardinals will be carried by TBS. The telecast will be available locally in the St. Louis market, but not L.A. as SportsNet LA is broadcasting the game.
