With a large contingent of fans sitting down the left field line, the Los Angeles Dodgers seemingly felt at home in just their second visit to Yankee Stadium. Despite being in the American League Wild Card picture, the New York Yankees weren’t much of a draw Monday night.

On top of having their home crowd overmatched, the Yankees found themselves in an early hole. Chase Utley opened the game with a single, Corey Seager followed with his own base hit, and an Adrian Gonzalez later gave the Dodgers a 1-0 lead.

Jose De Leon, making just his second career Major League start, retired the side in order in the bottom of the first on just 11 pitches. The Dodgers scored three runs in the second, with two coming on Utley’s drive to the right-center field gap that Aaron Judge dropped.

Standing on third after the three-base error, Utley crossed the plate on Seager’s base hit. Los Angeles extended their lead to 6-0 in the third inning, and were ahead 6-2 in the eighth.

Yasiel Puig was called on to bat for Joc Pederson, and delivered with his first career pinch-hit home run:

Puig entered play Monday night 3-for-23 with 10 strikeouts in his career as a pinch-hitter, including an 0-for-9 clip this season. The home run was Puig’s third since rejoining the Dodgers from Triple-A Oklahoma City this month.

Puig’s late home run wasn’t the only additional lift the Dodgers received. Justin Turner added a solo shot in the ninth for his team-leading 27th home run this season:

The homer also gave Turner the team lead with 80 RBI, one ahead of Gonzalez, who extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a two-out single in the ninth inning.
