After the Los Angeles Dodgers came up short against the Houston Astros in Game 7 of the World Series, Yasiel Puig returned home to find he’d been burglarized for a second time this year. Though, it was a first since Puig recently moved into a new home.
Back in February, Puig was robbed of $150,000 worth of jewelry. Despite the loss, he expressed gratitude and a sense of relief his family was not harmed during the incident. Last week, only costume jewelry, totaling around $150, was taken from his home.
On Sunday night, Puig was among the celebrities in attendance at Staples Center to watch the Los Angeles Lakers face the Memphis Grizzlies. Brandon Ingram and Brook Lopez led a balanced Lakers attack as they came away with a 107-102 victory to pull to .500 on the young season.
Following their victory, Puig was approached by fans and TMZ Sports cameras, during which time he used expletives to shrug off the latest robbery he was a victim of (warning: video includes explicit language):
The 26-year-old batted .263/.346/.487 with 24 doubles, 28 home runs and 74 RBI over 152 games in what was his best season since debuting with the Dodgers in 2013.
In addition to becoming more consistent and productive at the plate, Puig’s sustained play in right field earned him a spot as a Gold Glove finalist. He was also among the Dodgers’ nominees for the 2017 Esurance MLB Awards.
