Dodgers Video: Lakers Rookies Moritz Wagner, Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk Throw Out Ceremonial First Pitch
Los Angeles Lakers

Los Angeles Lakers rookies Moritz Wagner and Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday night when the Los Angeles Dodgers hosted the Chicago Cubs.

The Lakers drafted Wagner with the No. 25 overall pick out of the University of Michigan in the 2018 NBA Draft, while selecting Mykhailiuk in the second round at No. 47 out of the University of Kansas.

As it currently stands, the Lakers have one of the brighter young cores in all of basketball. They added Wagner and Mykhailiuk to the likes of Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma and others.

While their future is bright on the court, the same cannot be necessarily be said for baseball as Wagner bounced in his first pitch while throwing to Dodgers pitcher Rich Hill, via the Lakers official Twitter account:

The Lakers’ rookies picked a good game to go to as the Dodgers came away with a 7-5 win over the rival Cubs to improve to 43-36 on the season.

Los Angeles is on a record pace for home runs hit in the month of June, hitting three more on Wednesday night. They currently have hit 51 in June, which is just three off from breaking the franchise record for most in a calendar month.

As interesting as times are for the Dodgers right now, the same can be said of the Lakers, who are about to enter free agency looking to add max free agents like LeBron James and Paul George into the organization.

They are also in trade talks with the San Antonio Spurs to acquire Kawhi Leonard, so it will be interesting to see if either Wagner or Mykhailiuk are involved at all in those discussions.
