Ask any player in the Los Angeles Dodgers clubhouse who their most easy-going teammate may be, and the heavy favorite would be Kiké Hernandez. Whether cheering from the dugout or playing a in a game, Hernandez is never far from the action.
Such was the case Tuesday night when Yasmani Grandal hit a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning. As Grandal rounded the bases, SportsNet LA cameras caught Hernandez doing his version of play-by-play.
That prompted the club to have the utility man do a game preview for Wednesday’s contest against the St. Louis Cardinals. He was joined by Dodgers quality assurance coach Juan Castro, with the duo completing their segment in Spanish:

After a slow start to the season, Hernandez heated up in May. Over 19 games (eight starts) this month, he’s batting .250/.348/.475 with six doubles, one home run and six RBI. Hernandez went 0-for-2 on Wednesday night after appearing as a pinch-hitter.
While Hernandez has raised his batting average and on-base percentage from April, his slugging is down. He had six doubles, one triple and two home runs in 21 games during April, good for a .532 slugging percentage.
