While the Los Angeles Dodgers’ offense has looked stagnant at various points during the season, contributions from those expected to shoulder a significant load has steadily risen.

Veterans such as Adrian Gonzalez, Howie Kendrick, and Justin Turner have rounded the corner from their individual struggles earlier in the year to become forces in the middle of the Dodgers’ lineup.

That’s been particularly true for Turner, who’s hit .333 with 13 home runs and 35 RBIs in his last 35 games. In Thursday’s 6-3 win over the Washington Nationals, Turner accounted for five of the team’s runs.

While the Dodgers were without Corey Seager a third consecutive game on Thursday, Turner singlehandedly provided plenty of offensive fireworks.

Right off the bat in the first inning he belted a two-run homer on a full count after Adrian Gonzalez hit a two-out double to left. Turner was back at it again in the third as he got the green light on a 3-0 count and blasted a three-run home run.

Video of his big day provided via the Dodgers’ Twitter account:

The two home runs were Turner’s 16th and 17th of the season, setting a new career high. Turner is also on pace to shatter the 60 RBIs he had last season, which is currently a career high.
