Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Julio Urias earned the elusive first win of his young Major League career on Tuesday night. Urias took an usual path to get there, issuing a career-high six over six innings.

Despite aiding the Milwaukee Brewers in putting traffic on the bases, he allowed just two runs. What’s more, Urias set a career high with six innings of work and in pitches thrown (100). Despite exiting with the Dodgers holding a 6-2 lead, the 19 year old needed a little luck and strong defensive plays to get credited with a win.

Joc Pederson made a spectacular catch in the eighth inning to rob Chris Carter of an extra-base hit. It came at a cost for Pederson, who was immediately removed with an injury later said to be a bruised AC joint in his right shoulder.

Joe Blanton then ended the eighth by tagging Hernan Perez out at home plate on his attempt to score after stealing third base on what was a wild pitch.

While Adrian Gonzalez, Pederson and others contributed to the Dodgers taking their lead. So too did Urias, as he collected his first Major League hit and RBI in the third inning:
