Los Angeles Dodgers Spanish-language broadcaster Jaime Jarrín has kept plenty busy during the offseason, first hosting an inaugural golf tournament for his Jaime & Blanca Jarrín Foundation and also attending the Rose Parade as an honored guest.

Sonia Manzano (“Maria” on Sesame Street) and Ellen Ochoa (first Hispanic woman to go to space) were also Honored Guests for the 131st Rose Parade. Less than a week later, Jarrín made his way to Staples Center to watch the L.A. Kings face the Columbus Blue Jackets on Latino Heritage Night.

Jarrín joined Patrick O’Neal and Francisco X. Rivera for an interview during intermission and he discussed it being his first time attending an NHL game and looking ahead to Spring Training.

Jarrín, who previously was part of the Rose Parade via a float, gushed about the honor of being a distinguished guest and the adoration he received from Dodgers fans along the route.

Unfortunately for Jarrín, the Kings suffered a second consecutive loss. They were trailing at the time of his interview, though Jarrín still credited the crowd for their passion and enthusiasm.

The beloved Hall of Famer previously connected with LAFC and fellow Ecuadorian Diego Palacios prior to their playoff game against the L.A. Galaxy.

As for matters in the broadcast booth, Jarrín is entering his 62nd season. He signed a multi-year contract extension in September 2018 that runs through this September. The 84-year-old has not publicly stated if he will continue beyond this season.
