The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has dramatically changed everyday life, with schools, restaurants and businesses closing in several states as an effort to curb the spread.

The sports world has similarly come to a halt, with the NBA, NHL, MLS and Major League Baseball shutting down shop to protect the health of athletes, team employees and fans.

MLB not only cancelled the remainder of Spring Training games for each club, but also delayed the start of the regular season indefinitely. At minimum, play will be suspended until the middle of May, but most believe June is a more logical target for Opening Day.

With baseball on the back burner for the foreseeable future, multiple Los Angeles Dodgers players, including Clayton Kershaw and Joc Pederson, shared tips on how to be safe during these unprecedented times, via the Dodgers’ official Twitter:

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, Spanish-language broadcaster Jaime Jarrín and Justin Turner previously offered encouraging words to fans that may be feeling uneasy amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Turner recently partnered with Slice as a means of connecting with local pizzerias who are providing deliveries to foster and underserved families at the Los Angeles Dream Center. Slice is ensuring 400 pizzas get delivered to the Dream Center on Thursday and Friday.

Turner and Kershaw, both of whom regularly work on various initiatives with The Dream Center, have also privately worked to ensure the nonprofit organization could continue providing meals for those in need.

Kershaw turned 32 years old on Thursday, and with no MLB action scheduled anytime soon, SportsNet LA is honoring the left-hander by airing six ‘Timeless Dodgers’ games that feature some of his most memorable performances.
