Dodgers Video: Chris Taylor Stars In ‘Meet The Pets’

Several Los Angeles Dodgers players have pets at home, including Chris Taylor, who along with his fiancée Mary Keller, have two dogs. One of which is Charlotte, a shepherd mix that Taylor has had since the midway point of the 2021 season.

Charlotte was the subject of a “Meet The Pets” interview Taylor did for Whistle on YouTube. He shared various details about Charlotte, who is named after Charlottesville, Virginia, where Taylor attended college.

Although it was Taylor who starred at the University of Virginia, it’s Mary who was responsible for the name. As others who have dogs can attest to, Taylor highlighted one of the many enjoyable aspects with Charlotte is her excitement to see him regardless of how matters went on the field.

Taylor and Mary will soon have their wedding but are undecided if that will include Charlotte. The couple also has a second dog, Hendrix.

Both enjoy being around other pets, including Cody Bellinger’s Doberman pinscher, Junior.

As for baseball matters, Taylor recalled his first-pitch home run in Game 1 of 2017 World Series, diving catch against Milwaukee Brewers in 2018 National League Championship Series, and walk-off home run against St. Louis Cardinals in the 2021 NL Wild Card Game as moments that gave him waves of adrenaline.

And like others on the team have stated, Taylor expressed a gratitude that the Dodgers are perennial World Series contenders.

Will Chris Taylor play shortstop?

For the second consecutive offseason the Dodgers find themselves with a free-agent shortstop. However, unlike when Corey Seager hit the open market, they don’t have a clearcut replacement waiting in the wings now that Trea Turner has reached free agency.

If Turner does not re-sign with the Dodgers, it’s conceivable Taylor could be part of the equation to fill the void at shortstop.
