Dodgers Transfer Ben Casparius To 60-Day Injured List

The Los Angeles Dodgers transferred Ben Casparius to the 60-day injured list. It was the corresponding move to make room on the 40-man roster for the club signing Jonathan Hernández.

Casparius landed on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation roughly one month ago in the middle of April. It came one day after he allowed two runs in one inning against the Texas Rangers.

Casparius has been in Arizona at the Dodgers’ facitlity at Camelback Ranch going through a throwing program, but he has a long timetable until he’s able to return.

“He’s out there with Evan Phillips and a couple other guys,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said in early May. “He’s on a longer timetable. I don’t know when it is, but it is a longer timetable. And then once he starts facing hitters and goes on rehab, then it’ll be more of a conversation.”

The 27-year-old has only pitched 4.2 innings this season, posting a 9.64 ERa with a 6.74 FIP and 2.14 WHIP. Over his MLB career, he’s thrown 90.2 innings with a 4.67 ERA, 3.57 FIP and 1.35 WHIP while striking out 22.1% of hitters and walking 7.4%.

He is now eligible to return from the injured list on June 10, 2026. It is unclear if he will be ready to go at that time, but it marks another pitcher the Dodgers expect to get back later in the season.

Dodgers pitchers 60-day IL

Edwin Díaz

Edwin Díaz was moved to the 60-day IL after undergoing right elbow surgery to remove loose bodies. He was expected to miss around three months and is expected to return in the second half of the season.

Jake Cousins

The Dodgers signed Jake Cousins right as Spring Training came to an end, but the right-hander is recovering from Tommy John surgery he underwent in June 2025.

He is expected to be an option later in the season.

Brusdar Graterol

Brusdar Graterol has been on the IL since the start of the season as he continues to work his way back from right shoulder surgery.

Graterol started a rehab assignment, but had to be shut down due to a back issue.

It remains unclear when Graterol will pitch again.

Landon Knack

Landon Knack began the season on the 15-day IL with an intercostal strain, which he sustained on March 13 while throwing a bullpen. His IL stint is retroactive to March 22, making his earliest return date May 21.

Knack’s current timeline also remains up in the air.

Bobby Miller

Bobby Miller was placed on the 60-day IL in Spring Training when the Dodgers signed Jake Cousins. The right-hander did not pitch in Spring Training due to right shoulder troubles.

There is no current timeline for Miller’s return.

Evan Phillips

Evan Phillips re-signed with the Dodgers this offseason, but he has been recovering from Tommy John surgery. The right-hander is throwing in Arizona and should be an option during the middle to second half of the season.

Gavin Stone

Gavin Stone was expected to be a full participant in Spring Training as he recovers from right shoulder surgery, but he had to be shut down due to a setback.

He has since resumed throwing and building up in Arizona, but there’s no set date for his return.
