The Los Angeles Dodgers have been among the most active teams ahead of the trade deadline with numerous holes to fill on their roster.
They began to upgrade their roster with a somewhat notable splash early on Monday when they acquired Tommy Edman from the St. Louis Cardinals and Michael Kopech from the Chicago White Sox in a three-deal deal that saw Miguel Vargas head out to the Windy City.
Even after making that deal, they’ve remained interested in adding impact to their roster, mainly in the outfield and to their starting rotation. However, their versatility and needs have allowed them to target a number of different players, giving them many different options to improve their roster.
Now, the Dodgers have made another deal, acquiring Amed Rosario from the Tampa Bay Rays, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic:

The Dodgers are trading Michael Flynn to the Rays, per Robert Murray of FanSided:
Right-hander Michael Flynn is going to the Rays in this trade, source said. Flynn was on a one-year minor-league deal with the Dodgers. Unclear if others involved. https://t.co/vLtEtwqq29

This marks the second year in a row the Dodgers traded for Rosario at the deadline. He was acquired last season from the Cleveland Guardians in exchange for Noah Syndergaard.
Amed Rosario’s role with Dodgers
Considering the Dodgers traded for Edamn to play center field, the likely role for Rosario is to help provide infield depth. He’s not only capable of playing shortstop and second base, but third base as well, which remains a question mark for the Dodgers due to Max Muncy’s injury.
