The Los Angeles Dodgers traded for Seattle Mariners left-hander Tyler Olson on Friday, in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Daniel Reynolds was designated for assignment to clear room for Olson on the 40-man roster. Los Angeles claimed Reynolds off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on Dec. 7.

The Dodgers and Mariners were previously intertwined this offseason as both clubs were in pursuit of Hisashi Iwakuma.

Iwakuma agreed to a three-year deal with the Dodgers, though it came undone after the right-hander failed a physical.

Iwakuma then re-signed with the Mariners on Thursday, receiving a one-year deal with vesting options for 2017 and 2018. Seattle selected Olson in the seventh round of the 2003 draft.

The left-handed reliever made his Major League debut last season, appearing in 11 games. He finished 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA, 6.36 FIP and 2.10 WHIP.

Olson allowed two home runs and had 10 strikeouts and eight walks (seven were intentional) over 13.1 innings pitched. The 26 year old also made 25 appearances, including six starts, for Triple-A Tacoma last season.

He posted a 4.47 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and had 53 strikeouts to 17 walks in 54.1 innings during his time in Triple-A. In three Minor League seasons with the Mariners, Olson is 17-17 with a 3.86 ERA and 1.33 WHIP in 70 games (41 starts).
