Dodgers Make Trade With Cubs, Add Nick Frasso To 40-Man Roster & Put Tyler Glasnow On 60-Day IL

The Los Angeles Dodgers made a flurry of roster moves prior to Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels without any of them impacting their current team.

Perhaps most notably, Tyler Glasnow was transferred to the 60-day injured list. The Dodgers also traded Antoine Kelly to the Chicago Cubs in a Minor League deal, and added Nick Frasso to their 40-man roster, which remains full.

Dodgers roster moves

Antoine Kelly traded

Kelly joined the organization during the offseason on a Minor League contract and was among the team’s non-roster invitees to big league camp for 2026 Spring Training. The left-hander threw 9.2 scoreless innings and struck out 13 batters over 10 appearances.

Kelly began the season with Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he was 0-3 with a 5.14 ERA and 1.86 WHIP in 26 games. Kelly was originally drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers with the No. 65 overall pick in the 2019 MLB Draft.

Nick Frasso

Once a promising pitching prospect in the Dodgers farm system, Frasso was non-tendered and became a free agent after the 2025 season. However, he re-signed with the team on a Minor League deal roughly one month later.

Frasso was acquired by the Dodgers in an August 2022 trade that sent Mitch White and Alex De Jesus to the Toronto Blue Jays. He was originally added onto their 40-man roster in November 2023 to protect from possibly getting selected in the Rule 5 Draft that year.

Unfortunately, Frasso went on to miss the entire 2024 season after having surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder. Although it was not publicly disclosed at the time, Frasso’s shoulder surgery was before the Rule 5 deadline.

Frasso struggled in his return to the mound last year and ended the season on the Minor League injured list before eventually going on the 60-day injured list as the Dodgers needed to make room on their 40-man roster for Andrew Heaney.

Frasso has a 4.85 ERA and 1.85 WHIP in 11 appearances for the Comets so far this season. He was added onto the Dodgers’ 40-man roster due to an upward mobility clause on his Minor League contract.

Tyler Glasnow on 60-day injured list

Glasnow has been out since May 8 due to back trouble that surfaced in the form of a spasm during his start on May 6. The initial expectation was the right-hander would miss a relatively short amount of time.

Instead, Glasnow has encountered trouble in his rehab process and at one point needed to be shut down from throwing. Glasnow was thought to have resumed a throwing program at the beginning of this week, but Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said on Saturday he still did not have clearance to do so.

With the paper move he now is not eligible to return until Monday, July 6.
