The Los Angeles Dodgers open the 2024 season by facing the San Diego Padres in the Seoul Series for MLB’s first games played in South Korea.
The dates of the two-game series — March 20 and 21 — have long been set. More recently the stadium — Gocheok Sky Dome — and start times — 7:05 p.m. local time/3:05 a.m. PT — became public knowledge as well.
All that’s left is Dodgers tickets going on sale for the highly anticipated South Korea games.
According to Jeeho Yoo of Yonhap News, tickets for the Seoul Series are expected to go on sale January 26 but may be limited to the Coupang Play website and Coupang Wow subscribers, while excluding foreign fans:
#MLB: Tickets for the Seoul Series between #Dodgers and #Padres will go on sale at Coupang Play website on Jan. 26. It's the Korean streaming service, will be the official streaming site for all the games. Not sure how friendly the site will be to English-speaking fans

IMPORTANT UPDATE on tickets for #MLB 2024 season opener between #Dodgers & #Padres in Seoul:
1. Tickets ONLY available on Coupang Play website to Coupang Wow (paid subscription) members
2. No plans for Coupang to open separate ticketing site for foreign residents— Jeeho Yoo (@Jeeho_1) January 16, 2024
While it’s plausible Coupang Wow subscribers gain some sort of priority access to tickets, it’s unlikely MLB would have arranged such a marquee series with limitations in place.
Interest in the Dodgers already was high as a perennial World Series contender, and that’s further increased with their signings of Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
What to know about Dodgers playing at Gocheok Sky Dome
The Gocheok Sky Dome (Korean: 고척스카이돔; Hanja: 高尺—-) is located in Gocheok-dong, Seoul, South Korea, and opened in September 2015. It’s a natural stadium choice for the Seoul Series due to having a dome and the potential for inclement weather at the time.
Gocheok Sky Dome’s capacity is 16,744 for a baseball game. Outfield dimensions are 325 feet down the left field line, 400 feet to straightaway center, and 325 feet to right field as well. The outfield fence stands 12 feet tall.
