As the Los Angeles Dodgers sit one week from their first Cactus League game of Spring Training, pitchers are getting into their throwing programs and bullpen sessions to start building up for the regular season.
Over the past few days the likes of Daniel Hudson, Clayton Kershaw, Dustin May, Bobby Miller, Jimmy Nelson, Gavin Stone and Julio Urías have been among the notable arms to throw off a mound at Camelback Ranch.
Miller’s throwing session attracted a crowd, which doesn’t come as much of a surprise considering his standing as a top Dodgers prospect.
Meanwhile, May elicited positive reactions from Dodgers pitching coach Mark Prior during his bullpen session and garnered praise from manager Dave Roberts the following day.

“It was a professional bullpen,” Roberts said. “Obviously the stuff is electric. Just to have him healthy was great for all of us.”
The Dodgers plan to monitor May’s workload in his first full season since returning from Tommy John surgery, but Roberts noted there are not any limits or benchmarks already set for the right-hander.
Nelson’s bullpen session came on the heels of re-signing with the Dodgers on a one-year contract that includes performance bonuses. Nelson hasn’t pitched since 2021 due to injuries, but has been deemed healthy this spring.
