The Los Angeles Dodgers spent the morning of Valentine’s Day holding their first official full-squad workout of 2024 Spring Training.
Prior to players dispersing on the backfields at Camelback Ranch, manager Dave Roberts addressed the Dodgers clubhouse as a group for the first time and implored them to embrace the opportunity ahead.
While it was another day of work, the Dodgers’ social media team capitalized on the holiday by presenting Valentine’s Day cards to players and Roberts.
Mookie Betts, Tyler Glasnow, Freddie Freeman, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Jason Heyward, Brusdar Graterol, Evan Phillips and Max Muncy were among the players who appeared in the video.

Most of the cards were play on names to create rhymes, and drew plenty of laughs.
Valentine’s Day has historically overlapped with Dodgers Spring Training, but in most cases primarily involved pitchers and catchers reporting for the start of workouts. But because the Dodgers start the 2024 season early with the Seoul Series from March 20-21, they opened camp ahead of the traditional schedule.
Dodgers Spring Training schedule
The first Cactus League game for the Dodgers is Thursday, February 22, with a road matchup against the San Diego Padres. San Diego and L.A. meet again the next day, though at Camelback Ranch.
The Dodgers’ last Spring Training game in Arizona is March 13. They will then play a pair of exhibition games in South Korea before opening the regular season.
March 4 is the only off day of the Dodgers’ 2024 Cactus League schedule. They have another off day on March 27, after completing the exhibition Freeway Series.
