Dodgers Spring Training: Tyler Glasnow & Blake Snell Scheduled For Starts

The Los Angeles Dodgers starting rotation not only is poised to welcome Tyler Glasnow back from a right elbow injury, but the group will also be led by Blake Snell.

Glasnow and Snell are going to be accompanied in the Dodgers’ Opening Day rotation by Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Roki Sasaki. Tony Gonsolin, Dustin May and Bobby Miller are competing to earn the role of fifth starter.

The Dodgers then will expand to a six-man rotation once Shohei Ohtani completes his progression and is cleared for a return to the mound. That is expected to come around May, if not slightly earlier.

Meanwhile, as the Dodgers move along with their accelerated Spring Training schedule, the likes of Glasnow and Snell are on the verge of making their first starts. So too is Sasaki, but that might come in a B game on the backfields at Camelback Ranch.

Tyler Glasnow

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Glasnow is scheduled for his 2025 debut on Monday. That’s going to be in the form of a start against the Cincinnati Reds, and makes for a potential matchup with former teammate Gavin Lux.

Glasnow is looking to bounce back from having his season cut short because of a right elbow injury.

Blake Snell

Signed to a five-year, $182 million contract, Snell figures to be counted on as the proverbial workhorse of the Dodgers rotation.

Up to this point the most Snell has pitched is two innings of live batting practice, which he did during a Dodgers workout at Camelback Ranch on Friday.

Snell’s unofficial Dodgers debut is scheduled to take place against the Seattle Mariners.

Roki Sasaki

Roberts said Sasaki is a candidate to pitch Tuesday or Wednesday, with the team still deciding whether or not that would occur in Cactus League play.

If Tuesday, that would suggest Sasaki is pitching in a Minor League game due to Snell being scheduled to start that day.
