Another round of Los Angeles Dodgers Spring Training roster cuts came after the team played their final Cactus League game of the year as Steven Duggar, Wander Suero and Bradley Zimmer were re-assigned to Minor League camp.

The Dodgers signed Duggar to a Minor League contract in December. He joined the team after spending the 2022 season with Duggar with the San Francisco Giants, Texas Rangers and Los Angeles Angels.

Duggar became a free agent when he rejected an outright assignment to the Angels’ Triple-A affiliate. He played a career-high 107 games for the Giants during the 2021 season, hitting .257/.330/.437 with 14 doubles, five triples, eight home runs, 35 RBI and seven stolen bases.

During Cactus League play with the Dodgers, Duggar batted .200/.327/.300 with one double, one home run and seven RBI over 19 games.

Suero impressed this spring as he pitched to a 1.17 ERA in eight relief appearances and had eight strikeouts over 7.2 innings. Although Suero is poised to begin the season with Triple-A Oklahoma City, he figures to be among the top candidates to get called up if the Dodgers are in need of bullpen reinforcements.

Zimmer saw plenty of playing time during Cactus League as he appeared in 21 games. The veteran outfielder hit .250/.385/.313 with two doubles but also had 19 strikeouts in 38 plate appearances.

Duggar and Zimmer, both of whom are more defensive-based outfielders, were among the candidates in the running for the final position player spot on the Dodgers Opening Day roster that went to James Outman.

Dodgers Spring Training roster

With only the exhibition Freeway Series remaining, the Dodgers Spring Training roster now is at 35 players (18 pitchers; 17 position players), though that includes Tony Gonsolin, Daniel Hudson, Gavin Lux, Jimmy Nelson and Alex Reyes, all of whom are going to begin the season on the injured list.

The number of Dodgers non-roster invitees to Spring Training remaining in camp are one pitcher and four position players. That includes Jason Heyward, who secured a spot on the Opening Day roster.
