Dodgers Spring Training Highlights: Joc Pederson, Chris Taylor Hit First-Inning Home Runs Vs. Brewers

Expected Los Angeles Dodgers regulars all seem to be ready for Opening Day as most of the position players have found their form at the plate and all of the pitchers have been doing well on the mound the last couple of weeks.

Los Angeles may have lost to the Milwaukee Brewers in their National League Championship Series rematch on Sunday afternoon at Camelback Ranch, but the team’s Major League players performed well and left the game with the Dodgers leading.

The offense got started early when Joc Pederson launched a leadoff home run to right field off Brewers starter Zack Davies to begin the bottom of the first. The home run was Pederson’s third of the spring.

Leadoff home runs are no secret to Pederson as he set a franchise record by hitting nine of them last season.

After Pederson homered, Justin Turner and Kiké Hernandez both walked, setting the stage for Chris Taylor’s big three-run home run with two outs to extend the Dodgers’ lead to 4-0.

Taylor is one of the only regulars that has struggled a bit at the plate this spring, but perhaps hitting his first home run will get him going a bit. He went on to hit a double down the left field line in his second at-bat of the day.
