The Los Angeles Dodgers signed Nick Robertson to a Minor League contract, marking a return to the team that selected him in the seventh round of the 2019 MLB Draft.
Robertson spent parts of four seasons with the Dodgers organization before making his MLB debut in 2023. He wound up posting a 6.10 ERA and 2.03 WHIP in nine appearances at the big league level.
On July 25 of that year, the Dodgers traded Robertson and Justin Hagenman to the Boston Red Sox in a deal that saw Kiké Hernández return to the Dodgers.
Robertson pitched to a 6.00 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in nine appearances (one start) with the Red Sox to finish the 2023 season. He was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals the following offseason as part of the deal that brought Tyler O’Neill to Boston.
Robertson began the 2024 campaign with the Cardinals and made eight appearances for them before he was claimed off waivers by the Los Angeles Angels.
Robertson spent one month with the Angels organization and never advanced past Triple-A. He was later claimed off waivers by the Toronto Blue Jays and pitched in only one game for them.
Robertson most recently split the 2025 season with the Houston Astros’ and Kansas City Royals’ Triple-A affiliates, recording a 4.30 ERA and 1.30 WHIP in 43 appearances.
Robertson will now try to get back to the Majors in his second stint with the Dodgers. He joins Carlos Duran, Nick Frasso and Chuckie Robinson as players who returned to L.A. this offseason on Minor League deals.
Nick Robertson’s role with Dodgers
Robertson figures to serve as pitching depth for the Dodgers and presumably will open the 2026 season with Oklahoma City.
He could eventually return to the Majors if the team faces an injury, but would need to be added to the 40-man roster.
