Shohei Ohtani Responded To Heckling From ‘Very Annoying’ Padres Fan

The Los Angeles Dodgers avoided being swept by the San Diego Padres behind a combined four home runs from Freddie Freeman, Dalton Rushing and Shohei Ohtani.

Freeman’s first blast tied the game in the sixth inning. Rushing’s three-run homer put the Dodgers ahead in the seventh, and Freeman added his second home run of the day in that inning as well.

The Dodgers were cruising to a much-needed win when Ohtani tied for the National League in the ninth inning with his 45th home run of the season.

After rounding the bases, Ohtani stopped by the dugout and high-fived a Padres fan who had been heckling him throughout the afternoon.

While the boisterous fan had plenty to say during the game, Freeman managed to avoid any comments.

“I didn’t get any of it. I think he was just kind of talking to Shohei the whole game,” Freeman said. “I’m glad Shohei was able to give him something else to cheer about.”

What did Padres fan say to Shohei Ohtani?

After interacting with the fan seated behind home plate, Ohtani continued celebrating with Dodgers manager Dave Roberts and Teoscar Hernández.

“Very annoying as he’s in my right ear the entire game,” Roberts said with a laugh. “But it was very out of character from Shohei. He was wearing him out the whole game, so it was good to see Shohei initiate a high five from him. That was great. That was fun. It was good to see Shohei show his personality.”

What did the Padres fan say to Ohtani?

“How bad Shohei was this series,” Roberts answered.

Ohtani went 1-for-11 with the one home run, two walks and three strikeouts during the weekend series.
