Continuing their busy offseason stacking the rosters with as many talented pieces that can fit, the Los Angeles Dodgers have made an effort to buffer their player development staff as well.
Known for being one of the top organizations in baseball in extracting the best out of each player, the Dodgers farm system has done it again with their top prospect pool. Those players are key in filling out the big league club, or as valued assets in trades.
The Dodgers made a move to re-sign scout Mike Tosar, who had previously played a role with the team from 2012-2019, according to MLB insider Francys Romero:
The Los Angeles Dodgers have rehired Mike Tosar as a scout.
After serving as the White Sox assistant hitting coach in 2024, Tosar returns to the organization where he played a key role in discovering talents like Yordan Alvarez, Andy Pages, and Miguel Vargas.

Tosar had been with the Dodgers as an international scout in his prior tenure with the team.
The Dodgers have historically been a force in the international baseball world. Romero reporting that Tosar was a big influence in finding Yordan Alvarez, Andy Pages and Miguel Vargas should bode well for how his next chapter with the Dodgers will unfold.
Tosar has previously worked with a few teams including the Seattle Mariners, Minnesota Twins, Miami Marlins and Tampa Bay Rays.
Mike Tosar’s track record
Tosar’s tenure with the Chicago White Sox in 2023 was brief, but his previous success stories are what make him a highly regarded name.
His experience in MLB dates back to the late 1980s, when Tosar was selected out of high school in the 1987 MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers but opted to play college baseball at the University of Miami. Tosar took on the role of a coach with the Rays in 1997 before eventually finding his way into the scouting realm.
