The Los Angeles Dodgers went into the offseason with multiple free agents who contributed to their World Series win over the Toronto Blue Jays, including Miguel Rojas.

The veteran has been with the team since the 2023 season after returning via trade with the Miami Marlins. Now at 36 years old, Rojas had made it clear he looked forward to playing one final season and wanted it to come with the Dodgers.

According to Daniel Álvarez-Montes of El Extrabase, the Dodgers are re-signing Rojas to a one-year, $5.5 million contract for 2026:

Breaking: INF Miguel Rojas and the Los Angeles Dodgers are in agreement on a one-year, $5.5MM deal, sources tell @ElExtrabase. This will be Rojas’s final year as an active player.

Rojas will remain in the organization beyond 2026 in the player development department.

— Daniel Álvarez-Montes (@DanielAlvarezEE) December 3, 2025

Rojas is the first of the current group of Dodgers free agents to receive a new contract, whether to return or join another team.

Rojas appeared in 114 games this year and hit .262/.318/.397 with 18 doubles, seven home runs and 57 RBI. Defensively, he was a finalist for the National League utility Gold Glove Award.

Over the past three seasons, Rojas has batted .260 with 18 homers, 94 RBI in 341 games while primarily filling a bench role. He’s also become a leader in the Dodgers clubhouse and touted by manager Dave Roberts and teammates for making a strong impact off the field.

Miguel Rojas home run ball sells

The ball from Rojas’ home run in the ninth inning of Game 7 of the World Series recently sold at auction for $156,000.

The game-tying blast is regarded as one of the most pivotal moments in Dodgers postseason history, and is one that Tommy Edman declared to rank among the best in World Series history.
