Little has gone right for a Los Angeles Dodgers pitching staff that has seemingly continued to take on one injury after another so far this season.
The latest of which was manager Dave Roberts revealing Evan Phillips will undergo Tommy John surgery and miss the remainder of 2025. The Dodgers bullpen additionally remains without the likes of Brusdar Graterol, Michael Kopech, Blake Treinen and Kirby Yates due to various injuries.
Related to Phillips being out for the rest of the season, the Dodgers completed a trade with the Cincinnati Reds to acquire former All-Star closer Alexis Díaz.
As the Dodgers look to continue patching their bullpen together, they now are primed to sign José Ureña, according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post:

With Ureña expected to join the Dodgers on Tuesday night, the team will need to make respective moves on their 40-man and active rosters.
An ongoing bullpen shuffle saw the Dodgers trade for Will Klein in a deal with the Seattle Mariners on Monday, and they also optioned Noah Davis while recalling Ryan Loutos. Chris Stratton was designated for assignment in order to make room for Klein.
Further inhibiting the Dodgers bullpen in their quest to remain afloat until reinforcements arrive is Tanner Scott continuing to struggle. Scott was tabbed with the loss in the series opener against the New York Mets as he entered in the 10th inning and allowed two runs.
Meanwhile, Ureña is poised to join the Dodgers one day after electing free agency upon clearing waivers when he was designated for assignment by the Toronto Blue Jays over the weekend.

The veteran right-hander has pitched for the Miami Marlins, Detroit Tigers, Milwaukee Brewers, Colorado Rockies, Chicago White Sox, Texas Rangers, Mets and Blue Jays over parts of 11 seasons.
During his big league career, Ureña is 44-77 with a 4.78 ERA and 1.40 WHIP in 239 games (154 starts). This season, he appeared in one game for the Mets and six (two starts) with the Blue Jays, going a combined 7-2 with a 5.87 ERA.
