Los Angeles Dodgers broadcaster Joe Davis has been the club’s voice for several years and it appears he now will have the honor to call World Series games on Fox Sport as a replacement to Joe Buck.
Davis has worked with Fox the past eight years and been the TV voice of the Dodgers since the great Vin Scully retired and he took over as the lead play-by-play man at the start of the 2017 season.
With Buck following Troy Aikman to ESPN in order to keep their tandem together, there had been speculation Davis would assume the lead MLB role for Fox Sports. That notion was further believed to become a reality when Fox tabbed Kevin Burkhardt to replace Buck as the top play-by-play man for the network’s NFL coverage rather than the baseball role
According to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, Davis has indeed been selected to call World Series games on Fox:
Joe Davis will be the new voice of the World Series, The Post has learned.
Davis is already an award-winning broadcaster who now ascends to the highest platform. He is expected to work alongside analyst John Smoltz.
The 2022 MLB All-Star Game is of course being hosted at Dodger Stadium, and as the lead play-by-play announcer for Fox Sports, Davis will get to call it from his own booth.
