UPDATE (June 7, 6:30 p.m.): The Los Angeles Dodgers officially announced Chris Heston was claimed off waivers by the Minnesota Twins.

Late last month the Los Angeles Dodgers claimed Mike Freeman and Chris Heston off waivers from the Seattle Mariners. Both players were immediately optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Heston is known for throwing a no-hitter for the San Francisco Giants against the New York Mets during the 2015 season. He figured to provide pitching depth for Oklahoma City, with an unlikely chance of joining the Dodgers.

After just one appearance with OKC, the right-hander is on the move again as he’s been claimed off waivers by the Minnesota Twins, according to J.P. Hoornstra of the Southern California News Group:

The Twins claimed Chris Heston off waivers. Heston was due to start for the Oklahoma City Dodgers in less than two hours.

The Dodgers nor Twins have yet to announce the transaction. Heston is expected to be with the Twins for their game Wednesday night against the Mariners. He comes off the Dodgers’ 40-man roster, which now stands at 39 players.

He allowed three runs on four hits, including two home runs, in three innings of a relief appearance for Oklahoma City. Heston was slated to start the second game of a doubleheader, which was instead filled by Fabio Castillo.

Heston pitched in 40 games (33 starts) over parts of four seasons with the Giants (2014-16) and Mariners (2017). He’s a career 13-13 with a 4.57 ERA and 1.43 WHIP, with 151 strikeouts and 78 walks in 193 innings pitched.

The 29-year-old was 0-1 and allowed 12 runs (11 earned) on 14 hits over five innings pitched in two games (one start) for the Mariners this season.
