The Los Angeles Dodgers have been busy continuing their offseason spending after capturing the eighth World Series title in franchise history this past season.
The Dodgers opened their free agency by signing the most talented starter on the market in Blake Snell. They then added Michael Conforto to bolster their outfield, and they continue to be in the mix for Teoscar Hernández.
Adding to the bullpen has also been on their radar after Blake Treinen, Joe Kelly and Daniel Hudson became free agents and Brusdar Graterol was lost for at least half the season due to surgery.
Now, Treinen is returning to the Dodgers on a two-year, $22 million deal, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic:

Treinen made the Dodgers a priority of sorts this offseason, stating on Foul Territory that he’d be open to any contract with L.A.
In 50 appearances in 2024, Treinen went 7-3 with one save, a 1.93 ERA, 2.99 FIP and a 0.94 WHIP. In 12.1 postseason innings, he went 2-0 with three saves, a 2.19 ERA and 18 strikeouts.
His showing in the World Series was heroic of sorts, when Treinen hurled 2.1 scoreless innings against the New York Yankees in Game 5 of the World Series.
What to expect from Blake Treinen in 2025
His workload this past season provided enough of a positive bump to his health that the Dodgers felt confident enough in how he’ll project going forward.
Treinen is still grading out in elite categories with his primary offerings, and his ability to strikeout hitters, couples nicely with his pitch-to-contact stuff when needed.
He could continue to work in the closer role he ended the season in, or the Dodgers could use the bullpen-by-committee approach that also worked well for them in the regular season.
Either way, he’ll continue to be a top reliever option across Major League Baseball and a dominant piece in the Dodgers bullpen.
