The Los Angeles Dodgers organization has undergone more turnover in their front office this winter than any other offseason in recent years. The exodus began in October, with the Minnesota Twins hiring Jeremy Zoll as Director of Minor League Operations.
Zoll had spent the past three seasons with the Dodgers, including 2016 and 2017 as assistant director of player development. Los Angeles also lost their director of player development, as Gabe Kapler was named manager of the Philadelphia Phillies.
More recently, former Dodgers senior vice president of baseball operations Alex Anthopoulos accepted a position with the Atlanta Braves as executive vice president and general manager.
According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, Anthopoulos has plucked Alex Tamin from the Dodgers organization to join him in Atlanta:
#Braves hiring Alex Tamin as director of major-league operations, sources tell The Athletic. Tamin had been #Dodgers’ director of baseball operations. Handled rules and transactions and also was heavily involved in advance scouting process. Will fill similar role with Braves.

Tamin spent the past six seasons with the Dodgers as director of baseball operations, contracts and research. Prior to that, he’d been hired by several MLB clubs to handle salary arbitration cases.
The hiring of Anthopoulos has come with sweeping changes in the Braves front office, as the organization looks to rebound from significant penalties handed down by MLB due to multiple rules violations regarding the signing of amateur players.
Former Braves general manager John Coppolella received a lifetime ban from baseball, and 12 of their international prospects were ruled free agents, effective immediately. One of which, right-handed pitcher Guillermo Zuniga, reportedly signed with the Dodgers.
