Dodgers Roster: Noah Davis Recalled & Luis García Placed On Injured List

The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled Noah Davis from Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to the series finale against the New York Yankees and placed Luis García on the 15-day injured list with a right adductor strain. García’s IL stint was backdated to May 29.

Davis is back up with the Dodgers for a third time this season. He joined the organization on domestic Opening Day, when the Dodgers acquired Davis from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for cash considerations. Davis had signed a Minor League contract with the Red Sox during the offseason.

The right-hander was recalled on April 18 to fill an open roster spot that had been created the day prior when Bobby Miller was optioned after a spot start. Davis spent just over a week with the Dodgers before he returned to Oklahoma City, and then was recalled as the corresponding move to Tyler Glasnow going on the injured list April 28.

But Davis’ time with the Dodgers lasted only one day as the team needed to rotate through fresh relief pitchers.

Davis has appeared in three games for the Dodgers so far this season, going 0-1 with a 10.13 ERA and 1.88 WHIP. However, he didn’t allow an earned run in two of those three appearances.

Davis previously pitched in the Majors for the Colorado Rockies over parts of three seasons from 2022-2024. During that span he went 0-4 with a 7.71 ERA, 5.65 FIP and 1.95 WHIP in 18 games (six starts). Davis appeared in a career-high nine games for the Rockies last season.

Luis García joins Dodgers pitchers on injured list

García makes 15 Dodgers pitchers currently on the injured list. Ironically, injuries are what created an opportunity for the 38-year-old and he’s become something of a workhorse out of the Dodgers bullpen.

García is third on the team with 26 appearances, trailing only Alex Vesia (28 games) and Tanner Scott (27). García additionally is second among all Dodgers relievers with 26 innings.

He last pitched on May 27 in the middle game of the series against the Cleveland Guardians. The veteran 2-0 with a 4.50 ERA and 1.69 WHIP.
