The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled Michael Grove from Triple-A Oklahoma City and optioned Ben Casparius ahead of their matchup against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Grove is back with the Dodgers for his second stint with the club after being optioned on Aug. 17 to make room for Ryan Brasier.

Grove allowed two runs in 0.1 innings in his last outing with the Dodgers while walking two hitters. He appeared in five games since returning from the injured list and allowed three runs in 4.1 innings with four strikeouts.

The 27-year-old is 4-3 on the season with a 5.18 ERA, 3.58 FIP and 1.22 WHIP in 33 games for the Dodgers while striking out 27.7% of hitters and walking 8.5%.

He has made 58 appearances (20 starts) for the Dodgers over three seasons, going 7-6 with a 5.53 ERA and 146 strikeouts in 140.0 innings.

Grove made three appearances with Triple-A Oklahoma City since August 17, tossing 5.0 scoreless innings with four strikeouts.

Casparius made his Major League debut last night, tossing a scoreless inning in the eighth inning and recording his first career win. He holds a 4-3 record in 14 games (13 starts) and a 3.30 ERA with 64 strikeouts with Triple-A Oklahoma City since being promoted on May 7.

He has spent four Minor League seasons in the Dodgers’ organization, going 14-17 in 77 games (56 starts) with 338 strikeouts against 145 walks

Justin Wrobleski & Andy Pages join Michael Grove

Justin Wrobleski and Andy Pages were recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to join the expanded Los Angeles Dodgers roster for September.

MLB roster rules permit teams to carry 28 active players for the final month of the regular season. However, within that is a requirement that the new additions must be split evenly between a pitcher and position player.

Wrobleski is up with the Dodgers for a third time this season and is starting Sunday’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Pages returns from Oklahoma City nearly two weeks after he was optioned in order to make room for Max Muncy coming off the injured list.
