The Los Angeles Dodgers activated Austin Barnes off the 10-day injured list and optioned Hunter Feduccia to Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to their series finale against the San Diego Padres.

Also before Thursday’s game, the Dodgers recalled Ben Casparius and put Brusdar Graterol on the 15-day injured list with another recurrence of right shoulder inflammation.

Meanwhile, Feduccia heads back to the Minors after spending the last 10 days up with the Dodgers. It was his second stint up with the team this season, and both came because of Barnes suffering a left big toe injury.

Feduccia has only appeared in five games for the Dodgers, going 4-for-12 with one RBI and two walks during that span. Among the notable opportunities for Feduccia was getting to form a battery with Gavin Stone.

“I’ve thrown to him a lot in the Minors, so for him to come up here and have that moment with him was awesome,” Stone said of pitching to Feduccia in late August.

That occurred in what was Feduccia’s first start with the Dodgers. The afternoon game saw Feduccia record his first hit as well.

“It’s awesome. He’s one of my best friends in this organization and he has been for a while. Just to be a part of his special day was pretty cool,” Stone added.

Although Feduccia was optioned to Triple-A, the season has ended for the Oklahoma City Baseball Club.

The 27-year-old batted .284/.409/.428 with 17 doubles, six home runs and 50 RBI over 82 games with OKC.

Austin Barnes returns

Barnes returns during the final days of the regular season, just as the Dodgers hopped for.

He’s recently dealt with two separate fractures in his left big toe that both were the result of being hit by a foul ball. In each instance Barnes has been activated off the injured list immediately once eligible to return.

Barnes is batting .261/.327/.306 with three doubles, one home run and 11 RBI this season.
