The 2018 season has been a rough one for the Los Angeles Dodgers, particularly at home as they hold a 31-32 record at Dodger Stadium.

The fans have still been there to support them though, as after 48,247 people attended Wednesday night’s loss to the St. Louis Cardinals, the Dodgers reached 3 million in attendance at Dodger Stadium for a seventh consecutive season.

They became the first team to reach that mark this season and during that stretch, they’ve led the Majors in home attendance in all but one year (2012).

In 2017, the Dodgers reached the 3 million mark on Aug. 25, so they got there a little quicker this year despite that year’s club holding an impressive 52-16 record at Dodger Stadium on the day they reached the threshold.

Unlike a season ago, the Dodgers are in serious danger of missing the postseason for the first time since 2012. After losing to the Cardinals on Wednesday, the Dodgers have dropped lost eight of their last 11 games and fallen into third place in the National League West, 4.5 games behind the division-leading Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Dodger Stadium attendance record for a single season was set at 3,857,036 in 2007. With 18 home games left, the Dodgers will need to average 45,599.06 per game to break that record, which is obtainable considering they are averaging more than 46,000 per game so far this season.
