The 2024 MLB All-Star Future Games was held on Saturday at Globe Life Field, which saw the National League Futures earn a 6-1 win over the American League Futures.

The Los Angeles Dodgers were represented by prospects Thayron Liranzo and Jeral Perez in the 25th edition of the annual showcase, who both came off the bench for the NL.

Liranzo entered the game in the fifth inning for San Diego Padres catching prospect Ethan Salas and went 0-for-1 with a walk. Perez replaced Pittsburgh Pirates second base prospect Terrmarr Johnson in the fifth and went 1-for-2 with a run scored.

Perez and Liranzo both made an error at their respective positions as well.

Liranzo is among an impressive collection of Dodgers catching prospects that also consists of Diego Cartaya, Dalton Rushing and Yeiner Fernandez.

The 21-year-old is hitting .221/.351/.367 with 14 doubles, seven home runs and 27 RBI through 68 games in his first season with High-A Great Lakes.

Perez made his professional debut in 2022 and has spent the entire 2024 season with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga. He’s batting .277/.394/.441 with 15 doubles, nine home runs and 37 RBI in 67 games.

Liranzo and Perez joined Corey Seager (2014), Julio Urías (2014), Yadier Álvarez (2017), Cartaya (2022) and Rushing (2023) as Dodgers prospects to play in the All-Star Futures Game despite not advancing past High-A at the time.

Overall, there have been a total of 28 Dodgers prospects named to the Futures Game.

Cincinnati Reds prospect Cam Collier was named the Futures Game MVP after going 1-for-2 with a home run. Atlanta Braves prospect Jake Baldwin also hit a home run, driving in two runs while going 1-for-2.

Futures Game history

The 2024 All-Star Futures Game kept with the NL vs. AL format that was introduced in 2019, which came after 20 years of United States prospects facing international players. The NL now holds a 3-1-1 advantage under the current format.
