The Los Angeles Dodgers roster faces multiple needs as the MLB trade deadline sits just over two weeks away at 3 p.m. PT on July 30.
Despite heading into the season with an impressive collecting of starting pitching depth, the Dodgers rotation figures to be one area that gets addressed. It’s also plausible president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman looks to acquire a shortstop or perhaps a third baseman due to Max Muncy suffering yet another setback in his recovery.
Whatever path the Dodgers front office pursues, it’s likely to require parting with some Minor Leaguers from a talented group of prospects.
According to Jon Morosi of MLB Network, Dodgers pitching prospect Edgardo Henriquez could emerge as a trade target for other teams:
As the Dodgers contemplate pitching reinforcements — internal or external — Edgardo Henriquez is a name to remember.
Henriquez, 22, has earned two promotions already this season. He has struck out 59 batters in 33 innings.
Evaluators from selling teams are likely to watch…

The Chicago White Sox reportedly increased their in-person scouting efforts with the Dodgers farm system amid reports of a potential Garrett Crochet trade. Though, the White Sox are said to have already quickly rejected a Dodgers’ trade offer for Crochet.
Henriquez, 22, began the 2024 Minor League season with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga before earning a promotion to High-A Great Lakes in the middle of May. The right-hander remained with the Loons for nearly one month and then was moved up to Double-A Tulsa.
Henriquez, pitched to a 1.74 ERA and 0.97 WHIP while collecting 21 strikeouts in 10.1 innings pitched across five starts for the Quakes. His ERA rose half a run over eight appearances for the Loons, but Henriquez continued to strike out batters at a high rate — totaling 25 in 12.1 innings.
There has been some drop off with that trend since Henriquez joined the Drillers, as he has 13 strikeouts over 10.1 innings pitched in nine games.
Edgardo Henriquez’s career with Dodgers
The Dodgers signed Henriquez as an international free agent out of Venezuela in September 2018. Henriquez made his professional debut the following year in the Dominican Summer League before coming stateside in 2021.
In parts of four Minor League seasons thus far, Henriquez is a career 6-9 with a 4.19 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 183 strikeouts in 133.1 innings over 67 games (30 starts).
