Dodgers Prospect Andy Pages Wanted More ‘Consistency’ With Tulsa Drillers During 2022 Minor League Season

Andy Pages is among the Los Angeles Dodgers prospects on the Glendale Desert Dogs rosters for the 2022 Arizona Fall League, which is providing them with an opportunity to continue developing after the Minor League season.

Pages recently combined with Jose Ramos to lead the Desert Dogs to a comeback win over the Peoria Javelinas, and afterward said he is enjoying the experience thus far. Pages particularly has taken to getting to play alongside Ramos, another talented outfielder in the Dodgers farm system.

This is the first time the two are teammates, as Ramos spent all of 2022 with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga and High-A Great Lakes. Pages played the entire season with Double-A Tulsa.

Although it was a productive campaign, Pages said he felt a lack of steadiness at the plate, via Jesse Borek of MLB.com:

“I think the biggest adjustment in Tulsa was getting consistency with my swing,” Pages said. “I felt like throughout the year, I wasn’t that consistent.”

Pages appeared in 132 games for the Drillers, batting .236/.336/.468 with 29 doubles, 26 home runs and 80 RBI. That came after he hit .265/.394/.539 with 25 doubles, 31 home runs and 88 RBI over 120 games for the Loons in 2021.

To Pages’ point, he enjoyed a hot April with the Drillers this season but experienced regression in May and had a bit of a rollercoaster season after that.

The 21-year-old signed with the Dodgers as an international free agent out of Cuba in March 2018.

Dodgers nearly traded Andy Pages

Back in February 2020, the Dodgers nearly traded Pages to the Los Angeles Angels along with Joc Pederson and Ross Stripling. The deal called for them to receive Luis Rengifo and another one or two Minor League players.

However, the trade was never finalized because it was dependent on the Dodgers first completing a three-team blockbuster with the Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins.

That hit a delay, which prompted Angels owner Arte Moreno to back out of the trade due to frustration. Moreno later refuted that an agreement had been reached with the Dodgers.
