The Los Angeles Dodgers became the first team since the 1998-2000 New York Yankees to repeat as World Series champions after eliminating the Toronto Blue Jays in seven games.
After winning the deciding matchup at Rogers Centre, the Dodgers were extended an invitation to visit the White House from President Donald Trump, which has long been tradition for championship teams in North America.
“Congratulations to the L.A. Dodgers, a game won by incredible CHAMPIONS!!!” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “A lesser group of men would never have been able to win that game, or game 6, for that matter. So many stars made it all happen. Also, congratulations to ownership. What a great job they have done. SEE YOU ALL AT THE WHITE HOUSE!!!”
The Dodgers did not formally accept the invitation at the time, but it appears they will indeed be making another trip to the White House, via Zain Khan and Jack Harris of the California Post:
The Los Angeles Dodgers will attend a White House ceremony in their honor this year, the Trump administration confirmed Wednesday, amid calls for the team to scrap the traditional visit.
A White House official exclusively told The Post that the team has been in touch with the administration and plans to attend, but a date has yet to be set.
The Dodgers previously visited the White House in 2025 to celebrate their World Series win over the New York Yankees, which was met with pushback from some segments of the fanbase. Mookie Betts also debated whether to attend before ultimately deciding to accompany his teammates in order to avoid becoming a distraction.
Only Freddie Freeman, who had just been put on the injured list with a sprained right ankle days before, and Brusdar Graterol, a Venezuelan native, were not with the Dodgers during their time in Washington, D.C. Clayton Kershaw delivered a speech in Freeman’s place.
When will Dodgers go to the White House?
The Dodgers’ visit to the White House will likely occur on Thursday, April 2, the day before beginning a three-game series against the Washington Nationals. That date is an off day in the 2026 Dodgers schedule.
