Dodgers Opening Day Roster: Brusdar Graterol Placed On 60-Day Injured List

The Los Angeles Dodgers placed Brusdar Graterol on the 60-day injured list as part of setting their Opening Day roster for the Tokyo Series.

Michael Grove also was put on the 60-day IL as the Dodgers needed corresponding 40-man roster moves to select the contracts of Luis Garcia and Roki Sasaki.

Graterol had already been projected to miss at least the first half of the 2025 season after undergoing offseason surgery to repair the labrum in his right shoulder.

Hip trouble and right shoulder inflammation limited Graterol to just seven games last year. He returned in time for the World Series and made three appearances against the New York Yankees in the World Series.

Despite facing a long recovery ahead, Graterol expressed a sense of relief earlier this spring over finally getting his shoulder issue corrected.

Even with Graterol expected to be sidelined until after the All-Star break, the Dodgers bullpen should remain in good shape. The unit is returning many key contributors from last season, along with new additions Tanner Scott and Kirby Yates.

Though, Evan Phillips (right rotator cuff strain) and Michael Kopech (right shoulder impingement) were both placed on the 15-day injured list to begin the season.

Brusdar Graterol, Dodgers avoid arbitration

Graterol was among the Dodgers players eligible for arbitration during the offseason and he avoided a heaering by agreeing to a one-year, $2.8 million contract.

Graterol has one year of arbitration eligibility remaining before potentially reaching free agency after the 2026 season.
