The Los Angeles Dodgers bounced back from a loss with another blowout win against the New York Mets, defeating them 8-0 in Game 3 to take a 2-1 lead in the National League Championship Series.
Walker Buehler found himself back on the mound for a road playoff game and delivered four shutout innings. Buehler at times lost command but still managed to finish with six strikeouts while limiting the Mets to three hits and two walks.
Buehler escaped a particularly tough test in the second inning when the Mets loaded the bases with one out. The Dodgers at the time were clinging to a 2-0 lead thanks to an RBI infield single from Will Smith and Tommy Edman’s sacrifice fly in the top half.
Mets fans ain't got nothing on Shohei Ohtani's boos for himself 😂

Buehler struck out Francisco Alvarez looking and got Francisco Lindor swinging on a curveball. He let out a celebratory yell and also implored J.D. Martinez to swing the bat as the two walked off the field. Martinez had drawn a six-pitch walk with one out and only swung the bat once in the plate appearance.
Martinez struck out swinging in his second at-bat against Buehler.

The Dodgers’ lead remained 2-0 until Kiké Hernández connected on a two-run homer in the sixth inning. Hernández’s one-out single in the eighth set the table for Shohei Ohtani to break the game open with a three-run home run.
Max Muncy added a solo home run in the ninth inning. With that, Muncy tied with Corey Seager and Justin Turner for the Dodgers postseason record of most home runs at 13.
Dodgers postseason shutout record
The Dodgers became the first team in MLB history with three shutout wins of at least eight runs in a single postseason.
They previously tied the postseason record for longest scoreless streak at 33 consecutive innings.
