The Los Angeles Dodgers completed a sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers to secure their spot in the World Series for a second consecutive year and third time in the past six seasons.
Shohei Ohtani was the leading man in their clinching win as electrified in what wound up being the finale of the National League Championship Series. Ohtani pitched six-plus innings and collected 10 strikeouts on the mound, and made MLB history by hitting three home runs.
The three-homer game was Ohtani’s second of his career. The first instance came in 2024, when he established MLB’s 50-50 club with a record-setting performance against the Miami Marlins.
After the Dodgers’ 5-1 win and Ohtani being presented with his NLCS MVP trophy, he and the team went into the batting cage at Dodger Stadium for yet another beer and champagne celebration.

Kiké Hernández, who aided Ohtani by turning a double play on his running catch in left field, was often at the center of the Dodgers’ NLCS celebration as he danced while teammates showered him with beer.

Wasn’t quite like the one for their NL West celebration, but there was another Slip ‘N Slide. That’s “Possum,” one of the trainers. pic.twitter.com/VYgwLHoGag

Hernández is due to pass Justin Turner for the Dodgers record of most postseason games played. While it’s a feat he’s humbled by, Hernández was among several Dodgers who marveled at what they just witnessed from Ohtani. So too did president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman.
“We can’t comprehend just how special and unique this is,” Friedman said. “It’s one of one.”
Dodgers World Series
Next for the Dodgers is Game 1 of the World Series scheduled, for Friday, Oct. 24. However, where that will be played is not yet decided.
It could be at the Rogers Centre if the Toronto Blue Jays win the American League pennant, or Dodger Stadium should the Seattle Mariners advance.
