ESPN The Magazine’s Body Issue 2018 is set to hit newsstands on Friday, and Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig was among the athletes that graced the cover.

The Cuban born All-Star posing nude does not come as much of a surprise given his outgoing personality and great physique.

Puig opened up in an interview with ESPN about why he felt comfortable doing the photoshoot:

“You cannot feel bad or embarrassed for the body you have. It doesn’t matter what type of body you have, what race you are, if you are a man, woman, gay — if your friends or your husband or wife love you, that is most important. We only have one life, so it doesn’t matter how you look.”

Among the other athletes that also appear in this year’s issue were Saquon Barkley, Sue Bird, Charlotte Flair, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Dallas Keuchel, Jerry Rice and Karl-Anthony Towns, plus many more.

Puig has really come a long way since coming over to the Dodgers and making his MLB debut in 2013. Not only has he developed into one of the best right fielders in the sport, but he also has been doing a tremendous amount or work for the community in Los Angeles.

He recently hosted his second annual poker tournament to support his Wild Horse Foundation, which is currently working on building a community center in the city of San Fernando for kids to be able to hang out and play sports in a safe environment.

Puig and the Dodgers begin a big four-game series with the Chicago Cubs on Monday at Dodger Stadium, where they will look to build off their recent sweep of the New York Mets.
