Since calling his last game as a broadcaster nearly five years ago, Vin Scully has made occasional visits to Dodger Stadium while lending his voice for special projects, such as the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 2020 World Series DVD.

Scully has otherwise remained private in retirement, repeatedly turning down offers to get back into the booth — whether it be for an All-Star Game or World Series.

Despite this, the Hall of Famer has been able to stay in touch with fans through popular social media platforms Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Scully uses his online presence to share some of his favorite baseball memories, as well as offer commentary on the current state of the game.

The 93-year-old recently celebrated his one-year Twitter anniversary by making reference to his first post that included a video outlining his goals and hopes with the social media account.

A year ago today I started on @twitter with this announcement. It's been an interesting experience. Thanks for having me. Vin pic.twitter.com/Pl9TVOoz8U

When Scully revealed plans to join Twitter last year, he indicated it would be solely for the purpose of discussing baseball, and wanted to steer clear of any potential controversy.

It didn’t take long for Scully to amass a huge following as he quickly gained thousands of followers in the first 24 hours of being on Twitter.

As of this publishing, Scully was closing in on the 200,000 mark, which is a testament to the impact he’s had on baseball fans all around the world.

Scully launches NFT collection

Scully most recently was in the news for launching his own non-fungible token (NFT) collection through popular digital wallet Bitski.

The “Vin Scully: Brooklyn To LA Series” was designed in collaboration with Flux 88 Studios and celebrates the three chapters of his storied career. Two of the three collectibles, which have since sold out, include an audio recording from Scully describing the iconic call that is highlighted.
