The Los Angeles Dodgers released Ralston Cash from the organization this week, which he relayed in a post to his Instagram account. Cash has since joined the Seattle Mariners on a Minor League contract.

He was selected by the Dodgers out of high school in the second round of the 2010 Draft. Cash pitched for Rookie-level Ogden and the Arizona League Dodgers that year, going a combined 2-2 with a 5.00 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in 11 games (10 starts).

He missed the entire 2011 season after undergoing hip surgery and the recovery cost him much of 2012. Cash endured a broken rib in 2013, though managed to return, and fare well with Low-A Great Lakes.

During his time with the Dodgers, the 25-year-old pitched for each Minor League affiliate, except High-A Rancho Cucamonga, and peaked with Triple-A Oklahoma City in 2015 and 2016.

Cash went 4-0 with a 2.52 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 30 strikeouts in 25 innings pitched over 18 games for Oklahoma City. In 199 career Minor League games in the Dodgers farm system, the right-hander went 24-23 with a 3.90 ERA.

He retired the only two batters faced in a first appearance with the Mariners’ Double-A Arkansas affiliate.

With Cash released, Joc Pederson is the Dodgers’ lone pick from the 2010 Draft who remains part of the organization.
