The Los Angeles Dodgers announced tickets for all potential National League Division Series and NL Championship Series home games sold out on Wednesday, the first day they were made available to the general public.
It’s believed to be the quickest the team has sold out of postseason tickets in Dodger Stadium history. Through games played Wednesday night, the Dodgers have guaranteed themselves a fifth consecutive berth in the postseason.
Still hanging in the balance, however, are a potential NL West division title and the best record in baseball that would guarantee home-field advantage through the World Series. Los Angeles won a then-franchise record third consecutive NL West title in 2014.
While they have not yet locked up the division, the Dodgers potentially could do so as early as Thursday. That would mean hosting Game 1 of the NLDS on Friday, Oct. 6. They would host Game 2 of the best-of-five series on Oct. 6, and if necessary, a Game 5 on Thursday, Oct. 12.
Should the Dodgers fall to the NL Wild Card Game, that will be played Wednesday, Oct. 4. The NLCS begins Saturday, Oct. 14, while Game 1 of the World Series is set for Tuesday, Oct. 24.
