Dodgers News: Peso Pluma Throwing Out First Pitch At Dodger Stadium

The Los Angeles Dodgers announced chart-topping Mexican musician Peso Pluma is throwing out the first pitch at Dodger Stadium prior to the team’s matchup against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old has burst onto the scene this year, setting multiple records with the release of his new album “Génesis.” He recently became the first Mexican artist to hit No. 1 on the Spotify Global Top Songs chart.

Peso Pluma also reached No. 1 on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart, and eight of his songs landed on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Peso Pluma has ties to the Dodgers through Shelby Miller, who began using the singer’s “Ella Baila Sola” as his entrance song. Miller was urged to do so by Brusdar Graterol, Julio Urías and other teammates, in part because of a resemblance to Pluma.

“Graterol and Julio and bunch of the Latin guys call me Peso Pluma,” Miller recently explained in an exclusive interview with DodgerBlue.com.

“So I ended up choosing that as a walk-out song and knew it would probably be a hit with the crowd. I think it’s a great song. I don’t know exactly what it’s saying, I think it’s something about a girl dancing alone, but I like the vibe of it. I like the flow.”

Although Miller doesn’t have a full grasp of the Spanish lyrics, he intends to keep using Peso Pluma when entering games. Unfortunately for Miller, he will be sidelined for the foreseeable future due to neck pain.

Peso Pluma latest celebrity to throw out first pitch at Dodger Stadium

Peso Pluma is set to become the latest celebrity to throw out the first pitch at Dodger Stadium. Actor Chris Tucker of the “Rush Hour” movie franchise and “Air” was on hand to throw out the ceremonial first pitch last month, and so did Olympic gold medalist Michael Johnson.
