Dodgers Spring Training: New Field Installed At Camelback Ranch

A brand-new turf has been installed at Camelback Ranch for 2025 Spring Training, which is the Cactus League home of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago White Sox.

Both teams have played their home Spring Training games at Camelback Ranch since the training facility opened in 2009.

Since moving to Camelback Ranch, the Dodgers have consistently drawn large crowds to their games. The facility has also helped the team attract top talent, with players drawn to state-of-the-art amenities and top-notch training facilities.

Camelback Ranch grounds feature more than 118,000 square feet of Major and Minor League clubhouse space, 13 full baseball fields, three half-fields, replicas of Dodger Stadium and Guaranteed Rate Field, walking trails, an orange grove, two ponds and one lake.

Prior to relocating to Arizona, the Dodgers had trained at Dodgertown in Vero Beach, Fla., since the 1940s, dating back to the team’s days in Brooklyn.

However, the aging facility required significant renovations, which prompted the Dodgers to explore a permanent move out west. They played their last Spring Training game in Florida on March 17, 2008.

The move to Arizona has made it easier for players to travel to Spring Training themselves, with many of them choosing to drive out there, rather than needing to fly to Florida.

The same also goes for fans, as it’s a far easier commute to see the Dodgers play before the season begins.

Camelback Ranch average attendance in 2024 set new record

The Dodgers played a shortened Spring Training schedule because of starting the 2024 season early with the Seoul Series in South Korea, but average attendance at Camelback Ranch still saw an increase from last year.

The Dodgers set a record with an average attendance of 11,058 in their 11 home games this spring, which was an increase of nearly 20% from last year.
