The Los Angeles Dodgers didn’t show any signs of a hangover from a deflating loss, routing the Seattle Mariners 12-1 on Sunday to take the weekend series at Safeco Field.
They were led by a vintage performance from Justin Turner, who extended his hitting streak to 13 games and finished the afternoon 4-for-5 with two runs scored, a walk and three-run home run and game-high five RBI.
Turner’s home run came off Mariners infielder Andrew Romine, who was also on the mound for a bit of a scary incident for Manny Machado and the Dodgers.
Romine plunked Machado on the left wrist, which took the All-Star shortstop a few beats to shake off and take his base. Machado was removed from the game for the bottom of the ninth inning.
According to Bill Plunkett of the Southern California News Group, Machado will undergo an X-ray on his wrist:

Machado was just 1-for-5 with two runs scored but again continued to make solid contact. He has hit safely in four of the past five games and seven of the last 10.
On the season, Machado is batting .303/.378/.541 during time with the Baltimore Orioles and Dodgers. If he’s to miss any time, Kiké Hernandez and Chris Taylor presumably would split duties at shortstop.
