The Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday activated Logan Forsythe from the 10-day disabled list and optioned Josh Ravin to Triple-A Oklahoma City. Forsythe had been on the DL since April 19 after sustaining a toe fracture.
Forsythe was projected to miss approximately two weeks, but saw his clock reset due to hamstring tightness that surfaced while on a rehab assignment with High-A Rancho Cucamonga. In six games with the Quakes across two rehab stints, he went 3-for-14 with three doubles and four walks.
With Justin Turner nursing a hamstring injury, Forsythe returns to fill in at third base. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said the versatile infielder will receive the “lion’s share” of starts at third.
Through 14 games with the Dodgers, Forsythe is batting .295/.407/.341 with two doubles and three RBI.
Ravin returns to Oklahoma City two days after joining the Dodgers. While Los Angeles used four relievers in their victory over the Miami Marlins, the hard-throwing righty was not among them.
Ravin was called up to provide long relief in the event Brandon McCarthy’s outing was unexpectedly cut short. Ravin is 1-0, has allowed just one run in five innings, and has 11 strikeouts to two walks during his time with OKC thus far.
Last season with the Dodgers, he allowed one run in 9.2 innings over 10 games across multiple stints.
