Dodgers News: Logan Forsythe Goes Hitless In First Rehab Game With Quakes

While the Los Angeles Dodgers were slogging their way to another loss against the Cincinnati Reds, Logan Forsythe and High-A Rancho Cucamonga were similarly struggling against the Visalia Rawhide (Arizona Diamondbacks affiliate).

Forsythe logged seven innings at second base and went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in the Quakes’ 3-1 loss. Rancho Cucamonga managed just one run and four hits off four Rawhide pitchers.

Forsythe joined the affiliate Friday night for the start of a rehab assignment that is only expected to last through the weekend. He’s due to be joined by Justin Turner on Saturday.

The Dodgers have been without Forsythe since right shoulder inflammation forced him to the 10-day disabled list on April 15. There was initial optimism that he would be activated after missing the minimum number of days required.

But Forsythe experienced discomfort upon beginning a throwing program, which delayed his recovery and forthcoming return. As it stands, the 31-year-old is expected to be activated during the Dodgers’ six-game road trip.

Prior to going down with the injury, Forsythe hit just .174/.224/.283 with two doubles, one home run and four RBI in 12 games. With Turner also in line to come off the DL next week, Forsythe presumably will return to his more natural position of second base.
