Dodgers News: Justin Turner Vocalizes Frustration After Landing On DL With Groin Injury

The 2018 season has been a difficult one for Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner. Before the season even started he went down with an injury.

Turner was hit by a pitch in a Spring Training game and suffered a fractured wrist, which kept him out for the first month and a half of the season. The Dodgers struggled greatly while Turner was out, and their turnaround coincides with when Turner was activated off the disabled list.

Since that point, however, Turner has battled lingering soreness in his wrist and more recently an adductor injury/groin strain. He’d managed to avoid a second stint on the disabled list until earlier this week when Turner started for the first time since July 11.

He aggravated the groin issue and was forced to come out of the series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers in the third inning. Turner was then placed on the 10-day DL the following day.

Turner vocalized his frustration with how his season has been in terms of injuries, via Stephen Cohn of MLB.com:

“I’m not happy,” Turner said. “Especially with the way the year has gone, it’s been frustrating. It’s just another thing that sucks.”

Turner has been limited to just 50 games this season, hitting .259/.354/.398 with five home runs, 21 runs scored and 20 RBI. The Dodgers aren’t yet sure when he’ll be activated, but the focus is undeniably on getting him healthy for the postseason.
